When we were tasked with the redesign of their website they wanted more than a portfolio site; they wanted to create an online space for self-published articles and in-depth case studies that people could come back to. The unique challenge for this brief was for the content to be geo-located to accommodate users in both the US and Australia.

Discovery

The discovery phase included the consolidation and improvement of the navigation and information architecture. During workshops with both the US and Australian teams we mapped out the needs of each studio and the differences between users. The insights were used to inform the wireframes and requirements of prototypes.

Geo Location Prototyping

Prototyping of the geo-location tool and more complex interactions allowed us to make design and technical decisions in tandem. This is a great example of the benefits in collaboration between our design and development teams.

Design Research

Design research included finding ways to integrate SMM’s intersection of people and the environment into the UI. This was achieved by exploring alternative grids, ways of indexing information and brand devices.

Atomic Design System and CMS

An Atomic design system was delivered for across multiple breakpoints along with testing and design consultation throughout the build through to launch. Prismic was selected for the CMS as it accommodated unique content creation from both teams, as well as create a geo-located experience for US and Australian users. This was developed with our development partners at Supermarket.
